¡Felices Fiestas y Feliz Año Nuevo! – Happy Ho ¡Felices Fiestas y Feliz Año Nuevo! – Happy Holidays and A Happy New Year!

Le deseamos mucha alegría y felicidad en estas fiestas. Mucho amor para todos ustedes y sus familias esta Navidad. – We wish you much joy and happiness during the holidays. Much love to all of you and your families this Christmas.

A wonderful #Mexican #Christmas tradition, las #Posadas literally translates in English as "the inns" or "the lodgings". [Source: Chiff]

The holiday season symbolizes the Biblical journey of Mary and Joseph as they searched for shelter in Bethlehem before the birth of Jesus.

The nine-day celebration lasts from December 16 to Christmas Eve (#NocheBuena or "#HolyNight".)

Whether you adopt the religious significance or not, hosting your own Posada is a ton of fun. Think Christmas carols, great Mexican food, #margaritas, #tequila and a #piñata!
Warmest greetings of the Season and best wishes fo Warmest greetings of the Season and best wishes for Happiness in the New Year with Hanukkah Blessings – Love & Light to all!

The last day of #Hanukkah is the eighth day of the celebration. It is known as #ZoseHanukkah, #ZosHanukkah or #ZotHanukkah. It marks the day on which the great miracle of oil occurred, according to #Jewish belief.

One candle is lit on the first night of Hanukkah, and an additional candle is lit on each successive night, until, on the eighth night, the #Chanukiah / #Menorah is fully illuminated. Hanukkah is also called the Feast of Lights or Festival of Lights due to the importance of the candle-lighting.

This year, the winter solstice will fall at 7:22 pm EST on Dec. 21. This is the seventh night of #Chanukah, which was known among the #Jewish communities of Algeria, Morocco, and Tunisia as #ChaghaBanot or Festival of the Daughters. [Credit: tel shemesh]

Chag haBanot, which celebrates the link between mothers and daughters on Chanukah, seems to be similar in intention to Mother Night. It falls on the new moon, as the dark moon of winter shapes itself into a glowing crescent.

This year, as Chanukah, Chag haBanot, and the #solstice come together, one way to celebrate is to hold a celebration with a #candlelighting, preceded by a retelling of a Chanukah story about returning light. This is a ritual celebrating women as is customary on Chag haBanot.

According to custom, two blessings are recited and the seventh candle on the #menorah is lit.
Wishing you a joyous sixth night of Hanukkah! Ton Wishing you a joyous sixth night of Hanukkah!

Tonight is a particularly special night of the holiday because while #Hanukkah begins in the Jewish month of #Kislev, the new month of #Tevet begins on the the 6th night of the holiday.

There is a Talmudic statement that there are six seasons in the year. This ritual for the sixth night of #Chanukah honors the six seasons and re-imagines Chanukah as a re-dedication of the earth, for the earth is the Temple where we all live and serve.

We also see the number six in the six pointed star, the six directions in nature (north, south, east, west, up, down), and six visible colors in the rainbow. Six is the balance and beauty of the physical world.

According to custom, two blessings are recited and the sixth candle on the menorah is lit.
Tonight marks the fifth night of the eight-day hol Tonight marks the fifth night of the eight-day holiday of #Hanukkah.

Every night of Hanukkah brings with it a special glow imparted not only by the candles we light, but also by the inherent beauty and significance unique to each night.

However the #fifthnight is an important one because it is the first night where the majority of the candles are lit. It is considered to be a representation of light and darkness, as well as #resilience and #endurance.

According to custom, two blessings are recited and the fifth candle on the #menorah is lit.
Wishing you a Hanukkah overflowing with Love and L Wishing you a Hanukkah overflowing with Love and Laughter on this 4th Night!

According to custom, two blessings are recited and the fourth candle on the menorah is lit.

A game that kids play a lot at #Hanukkah parties uses a #dreidel, or #sevivon. The dreidel is a four-sided top with a letter from the Hebrew alphabet on each side. Everyone is given #gelt, which can be real coins or gold-wrapped chocolate coins, or nuts to bet with and depending on what side the dreidel lands on they win or lose the pot. (CBC Kids)

There’s even a song you can sing about the dreidel. Many people know the first verse and it goes like this:

“I have a little dreidel. I made it out of clay. And when it’s dry and ready, oh dreidel I shall play. Oh, dreidel, dreidel, dreidel, I made you out of clay. And when you’re dry and ready, oh dreidel we shall play.”
Wishing You a Joyous Third Night of #Hanukkah!

“The gift of love, the gift of peace, the gift of happiness… May these be yours at Hanukkah.”

Each night at sundown, family and friends celebrate by lighting another candle on the #menorah, also called the #hanukkiah. Songs and prayers are often said, and then it’s time to eat!

According to custom, the third candle on the menorah is lit after #Shabbat ends and the #Havdalah is recited.
Our Lady of Guadalupe Is a Powerful Symbol of Mexi Our Lady of Guadalupe Is a Powerful Symbol of Mexican Identity

Today on December 12, our #Latina sisters are celebrating the feast day of Mexico's patron saint, #OurLadyofGuadalupe (Spanish: Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe), also known as the Virgin of Guadalupe (Spanish: Virgen de Guadalupe).

For #Mexicans and Mexican-Americans as well as other Latinos, Our Lady of Guadalupe is a powerful symbol of devotion, identity, and patriotism. Her image inspires artists, activists, feminists and the faithful and is an inextricable part of Mexican and Mexican American culture. While Our Lady of Guadalupe’s presence in popular culture has grown along with the growth of the U.S. Latino population, she retains the sense of being an accessible source of hope for poor, oppressed, or marginalized people.

G_d of all peoples, we thank and bless you for the protection and love of Our Lady of Guadalupe. In her we see your affection for all peoples and feel your desire to be near to your people. Mother of the Americas, guide and comfort us with your loving presence as we, like you, seek to say yes to G_d’s call in our lives. Intercede on behalf of those who are ill. Inspire in us the faithfulness of Juan Diego as we seek to do the will of your son in the world. - Amen.
