Month: May 2016

Meet WOW’s May Ambassador of the Month

At WOW – World of Women, we believe in the importance of recognizing the women in our network and communities who go above and beyond in embodying our philosophy of women helping women. The Ambassador of the Month is someone who has supported the women in our network through leadership, acts of kindness, mentorship and/or by giving back to our communities. In recognizing these women, we are able to shine the spotlight on our members who are strong and positive role models to us all!

We are very excited to introduce you to WOW’s May Ambassador of the month: Michelle Brennan-Mann

michellesmallsizepicMichelle was nominated as Ambassador of the Month for her integrity and generous spirit.

Michelle Brennan-Mann is a talented cake artist who, after careful consideration in early 2015, decided to leave her full time job to start up her own cake making business. Michelle puts so much passion and attention to detail in every one of her creations, and has quickly gained exposure and built a brand and name for herself as one of the best cake artists in Ottawa.  She even designed our fabulous WOW 100th Ambassador Celebration Cake much to the delight of all the WOW Ambassadors in attendance and we look forward to her new creation for the much anticipated WOW’s One-year Anniversary Cocktail Party this Month.

Over the course of the past year, Michelle has attended many WOW events and workshops – all for the betterment of her business, and expansion of her network and those of others. At her showcase in January of 2016, Michelle was kind enough to teach us all how to make some of her famous cake balls that everyone loves so much!

Understanding the need to charge what she is worth, Michelle also makes a point of getting involved in her community and doing selected charity events as well. Her amazing “Club Sandwich Cake” took in a staggering $500.00 to help fund care for a local little boy with autism! Way to go, Michelle!

“Over the past year, WOW has watched Michelle come out of her shell and network her way to success – we couldn’t be more proud of all that she has done!”

“Without Christina’s help, WOW Ottawa wouldn’t be what it is today, and we would like to extend our gratitude for all of that work by naming Christina as Ambassador of the Month for April, 2016. We are very excited to introduce you to WOW’s March Ambassador of the month: Amanda Bernardo

Amanda Bernardo

Amanda was nominated as Ambassador of the Month for her dedication and help in aiding WOW develop its new and improved website and online marketing strategies.

But that’s not all …

Amanda Bernardo is a dedicated writer and proud author of her first children’s book Little Voice. For over a year, and until March 2016, Amanda has been the director of digital strategy for WOW World-of-Women. During this time she has revamped the WOW website with the help of Samantha (another WOW ambassador of the year nominee) to create pages for different chapters throughout the country. She was responsible for posting the Ambassadors biography and pictures along with writing the content for the blogs and events. Our website received great compliments and more traffic while Amanda was in this position. We are so happy with the new look, and now that Amanda has moved on to focus her attention on Little Voice and other exciting plans, she will be missed, but we know that she will still attend WOW events as often as she is able. We look forward to participating on her team for the walk for Alzheimer’s and attending her Dream Big Dream Girl Luncheon in June.

“We are happy to nominate Amanda as the Ambassador of the month of March as our way of saying thank you for all the work done on the website over the year to help WOW become a great network of women helping women. Thank you, Amanda! WoW is behind you 100% and wish you much success in all your future endeavors!”
