At WOW – World of Women, we believe in the importance of recognizing the women in our network and communities who go above and beyond in embodying our philosophy of women helping women. The Ambassador of the Month is someone who has supported the women in our network through leadership, acts of kindness, mentorship and/or by giving back to our communities. In recognizing these women, we are able to shine the spotlight on our members who are strong and positive role models to us all!
We are very excited to introduce you to WOW’s August Ambassador of the month:
Samantha Clusiau-Lawlor
Samantha was nominated as Ambassador of the Month for her help in aiding Amanda develop the WOW new and improved website. Sam, the selfless girl that she is, produced the updated WOW website logo and the cityscape graphics for our page!
But that’s not all ..
Samantha is always one who goes above and beyond to help the fellow women in this group. She often uses her talents as a graphic designer to help others pro bono! Her kindness, dedication and inspirational spirit make her a great addition to our network!
Tell us a little bit about yourself:
Well, my name is Samantha and I am a full time graphic designer for the House of Commons here in Ottawa, with of course, a great passion for illustration. I like to focus on this aspect of design because I find it to be the most fulfilling especially when I had the chance to illustrate a powerful children’s book called Little Voice. This allowed me to be creative, as well as to be fully involved in the book’s branding. I also currently do freelance work whenever I can in order to help those who need anything from graphics, to branding, print materials, website design layouts etc!
Why did you join WOW?
I joined WOW shortly after meeting with the founder: Carol. I had won a free business coaching session with her and was inspired by her genuine personality and all of her help. I thought “if she’s an advocate for WOW there must be many more women in that group who are selfless and dedicated just like her”. Supporting WOW comes as a second nature to me now. I’ve been blessed to meet such wonderful women entrepreneurs that the very least I can do is give back and help this organization prosper in any way I can.
We are thrilled to have Samantha in our WOW Ottawa Chapter and highly recommend her for any graphic design or illustrative needs!

Samantha will also be appearing this month at the Atomic Rooster’s Cock Show here in Ottawa, held from September 13th to October 18th. Samantha will be live at the show on Tuesday, September 15th at 7:00pm. Details of the event can be viewed here!
Samantha’s art will also be displayed as of October 1st at The Ministry of Coffee on Elgin Street.
